Area & Routes

Aeriko Boats departs from Skiathos — the gateway to the Sporades. From the harbor it's a short hop to a string of beaches, anchorages, and neighbouring islands that define a great day at sea in this part of the Aegean.

Skiathos — north coast

  • Lalaria — white-pebble beach only reachable by boat; the island's signature stop.
  • Kastro & sea caves — fortress ruins above dramatic cliffs, with the Dark Cave and Blue Cave nearby for a cool swim.
  • Mandraki & Elias — pine-backed bays at the historic anchorage of Xerxes; soft sand and turquoise shallows on calm days.
  • Megas & Mikros Aselinos — sheltered north-west bays; the smaller of the two is often empty.
  • Kechria — quiet north-coast cove with a tiny chapel above the beach.

Skiathos — south coast

  • Koukounaries — long pine-backed beach; easy lunch anchorage on the south side.
  • Banana & Big Banana — clear-water beaches just over the headland from Koukounaries.
  • Agia Eleni — west-facing beach for late-afternoon swims and the golden hour.
  • Vromolimnos & Kanapitsa — wooded inlets with calm, transparent water; popular lunch stops.
  • Tzaneria & Achladies — easy south-coast anchorages closer to town, good for a quick swim stop.

  • Tsougriaki — tiny rocky neighbour of Tsougria; sheltered anchorage and good snorkelling.
  • Arkos — green islet north-east of Skiathos with sheltered swimming coves.
  • Repi — pair of small islets near Arkos; crystal water for a quick dip.
  • Maragos — low-lying rock off the east coast; good fish-spotting.

Alonissos & the Marine Park

Further out — best as a full-day route in settled weather. Crystal water at Kokkinokastro and the calm side of Peristera. The National Marine Park of the Northern Sporades wraps a chain of uninhabited islands around Alonissos:

  • Peristera — long uninhabited island east of Alonissos with quiet bays and an ancient shipwreck below.
  • Kyra Panagia (Pelagos) — large park island with a working monastery; sheltered anchorage at Planitis.
  • Gioura — uninhabited; home of a rare wild-goat species, viewed from offshore.
  • Psathoura — northernmost islet with a tall lighthouse, ringed by some of the clearest water in the Aegean.
  • Skantzoura — small low islet south-east of Alonissos.
  • Piperi — strict-reserve core of the park; no landing, viewed from a distance.

Pelion & Pagasetic Gulf

A long crossing west to mainland Greece — the green Pelion coast and the sheltered Pagasetic Gulf. Stops at Afissos, Milina, and the fishing harbour of Tzasteni; a slow, scenic full day in calm waters when the wind is right.
